Dykes Resistance Tactics Against Police Violence

From Stonewall 1969 to Brussels 2020, from Kazakhstan to Serbia, how do lesbians resist police violence and which dyke tactics have been developed in different historical and geographical backgrounds? Please join our conversation and sharing of activist experiences this Thursday June 11 4PM cest.
SPEAKERS:

Bledarte is a women of color collective from Brussels. Beldarte is a bilingual collective that brings together/composes women with an immigrant background. They are DJs, event managers, artists for some of them. They create physical and digital spaces for racialized thinkers, artists and clubbers.

Nyiragasigswa Hens is a creative mother of the organization BeHuman. BeHuman is an arthouse which creates theater but also provides workshops - Pride Of Color - Rwanda en Zo Veel Meer.

Flavia Rando - Flavia Rando is an art historian who teaches Lesbian and Gender Studies. A longtime lesbian activist, she was a member of the Gay Liberation Front and Radicalesbians. In 2019, she was happy to accept the OUT d’or award in Paris on behalf of the Gay Liberation Front. Flavia is a coordinator of the Lesbian Herstory Archives. In 2011, she inaugurated the Lesbian Studies Institute at the Archives where she has had the privilege of teaching for nine years. Flavia has enjoyed the community of working with class participants and coordinators on projects such as marathon readings, art auctions and exhibits of Archives materials. The most recent exhibit in celebration of Stonewall 50 was, By the Force of Their Presence: Highlights From the Lesbian Herstory Archives, for the New York Historical Society.

Zhanar Sekerbayeva is a queer feminist, bigender, participant of Kazakhstan Feminist Initiative «Feminita». She has master of sport in powerlifting, experience of training of Karate Kekushinkai and basketball.
