Poland: More and more vandalism against the LGBT community

Marek Szolc: the authorities gave total consent to violence

There are more and more attacks on LGBT people every day. Not only are these homophobic beatings, there have been acts of vandalism and harassment. Poznań Stonewall Group is reporting that the glass is covered with their Lokum. In turn, Marek Szolc, a Warsaw councilor, shows a photo of a tenement house on which someone wrote "eat LGBT". Szolc comments: "We live in a state where power has given us total consent to violence. None of us can feel safe anymore."

Attacks on LGBT people have intensified since the beginning of the campaign. Hate speech and dehumanization of non-heteronormative people, which Andrzej Duda, along with his party, feeds his constituents and the election begins to translate into reality. Recently, there was loud talk about the beating under the LGBT club in Krakow; in Gdańsk, an aggressive man threatened passengers, shouting that " gays must be afraid ".
