Monaco: The Principality of Monaco recognizes a civil union contract for all couples

In Monaco, all couples will now be able to unite thanks to a civil union contract : the National Council has adopted a bill allowing them, whether of the same sex or of a different sex, to adopt this form of marriage. union already recognized in most European countries.

In the principality, this contract will also be open to members of the same family who live together as a contract of cohabitation. This law was passed on 4 December unanimously by the 24 elected representatives of the Council, the Monegasque Parliament.

"Continuity of family law"

These new provisions will notably open rights for all the couples uniting with this civil contract, and who have formalized their union in front of notary, in case of illness by the social insurance of the partner, of deaths by more favorable inheritance taxes or of the co-ownership of the lease.
