UK: Toybox is a spoken word & music project looking at Brit-ish Childhood.

The short film was developed through workshops with young people who grew up in care. Over days they wrote, edit & performed their own work. On the third day the body of work was recorded at a London studio

*Trigger Warning:

The aim of this project is about taking our experiences as young people in care, examining them with honesty, and putting them back with a better understanding. Talking about these experiences can sometimes be upsetting and there may be people in the group that will discuss the difficult circumstances which led them into care through their poetry. We will have an on site mental health professional on hand if you are feeling overwhelmed during the workshop.

Poems on film, written at 10 ages by 5 care leavers. A 22-minute visual spoken word album with music & puppetry, looking at experiences of British childhood....
