Cameroon: Pierre Milla Assouté: “We must not legalize homosexuality"

Pierre Mila Assouté, former activist of the CPDM and today promoter of the RDMC party offers a reflection on homosexuality and thinks that it should not be legalized in Cameroon. This chronicle is part of current events in Gabon, where the parliament adopted a law decriminalizing homosexuality in the country of Ali Bongo.

Pierre Milla Assouté is firm on the issue. For him, to say that one decriminalizes a perversion which approaches a sexual orientation means that one quite simply legalized homosexuality. The recent tribune of this former activist of the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People ( Rdpc ) arises from the news which currently divides the Gabonese. We know that since last week, Gabon has chosen to decriminalize homosexuality. It thus becomes the very first country in sub-Saharan Africa to review a law that punishes same-sex people who, however, have sex.

Addressing Cameroonians who have seen decriminalization of homosexuality in a certain way , Pierre Milla Assouté tells them that homosexuality will remain punished in our country. He points out that China, Russia and the Arab countries have refused this practice.

Below is the forum of Pierre Milla Assouté :

Homosexuality should not be legalized in Cameroon

When we talk about decriminalization of a perversion relating to sexual orientation, it simply means the legalization of homosexuality. Russia, China, the Arab countries rejected it. Some will tell you to justify the abomination that it is freedom to use your body. What is at stake relates to an exogenous cultural offer of homosexuality accompanied by economic conditionalities for development aid. Read more via ACP
