Lena Waithe has made history.
Waithe became the first black woman to both earn a nomination andreceive an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for her incredible “Thanksgiving” episode of Master of None, which she co-wrote with Aziz Ansari. Wisely, Ansari didn’t interrupt her as she made an incredible speech.
After making a Maxine Waters reference, and, thanking her mother, team, and chosen family, Waithe acknowledged the queer community:
