TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communication and Informatics Ministry ordered tech-giant Google to remove 75 mobile applications from Google Play Store. The apps are suspected to contain negative contents in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) groups.
The acting head of the Ministry’s public relations, Noor Izza said that other than ordering Google to shut down the applications, they have also blocked 15 DNS from 15 LGBT applications on the Google Play Store.
Facebook was also instructed to block a group in the social media giant that the government deemed unethical. “We have told Google to close down the applications. If not, we will block Google,” he said on Wednesday, January 17. Read more via tempo
