Gay Equal Rights Promotion Association/ LGBT Rights Advocacy China

More than 40 lawyers participated in the daily consulting service. During the epidemic period, they provided legal advice for the LGBT community and intervened in the treatment of emergency cases, which include compulsory treatment for transgender, employment discrimination due to sexual orientation, privacy exposure, violence after breaking up, LGBT partner rights and interests, and marriage of convenience. Those topics consist most of the appeals.

Because the rights of the LGBT community are not protected by law while discrimination is not prohibited, our LGBT friends are often unfairly treated and can not get basic legal relief and equal protection of their rights. This is one of the reasons why LGBT Rights Advocacy China was established. We hope to promote the implementation of China's laws and policies about anti-discrimination and equality of LGBT community by providing legal aid to the community, advocating legal action, and promoting the cooperation of lawyers, experts and scholars, and the media.
