A group of LGBTIQ refugees who fled homophobic persecution to the notorious Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya have been viciously attacked, allegedly by the police.
On 1 December, World AIDS day, LGBTI+ Namibians, activists and many allies gathered at the Bank Windhoek Theatre School in Windhoek for the start of the city’s annual Pride march.

However, in order to qualify under a “particular social group,” you must prove your membership in that group. For LGBTQ people, this means they must prove to a judge or asylum officer that they really are LGBTQ.
More than 120 LGBTQ asylum seekers are currently stuck in Tijuana, with the number sure to grow in the coming weeks as the arrival of a larger group of people fleeing violence and danger draws closer
